My Bracket: MIAA State Tournaments

The State Tournament is an exciting time. Teams who qualify participate in a “win or go home” bracket until a State Champion is crowned. We even can learn a little about our state’s geography. (Where the heck is…?)

Each student is going to pick ONE BRACKET to follow all the way to the state championship.

In My Senior Book. Find Bracket LIST SPORT AND DIVISION: (create a hyperlink and add bracket to sport and division.)

  1. Athletes pick your sport and your division.
  2. Non-Athletes: Pick any sport, Hanover’s division.

LIST THE Round of 32 Prompt

  • List Hanover’s Seed & the number 1 seed.
  • List the Hanover result. Also list any UPSETS, lower seeds winning. Include the teams, (seeds) and score.
  • Give a detailed account of the game. Players tell your story. Fans explain your emotions and what you observed.
  • Round of 16 predictions (Congratulations to the teams moving on!) Who is the opponent? What are your thoughts on the game? What needs to happen to move on?
  • Tell me about the sporting events you attended. There were 5, cheerleading, football, girls’ soccer, boys’ soccer, and field hockey. How many did you attend? Share your experience.

State Champions are crowned. LIST THE Round of 32 Prompt

Winter Season Writing Prompts

The following are some writing prompts for the Winter Season. The goal of the prompts it to allow each student to reflect on personal experiences related to sports. Obviously students who are actively involved in a season will have some more experiences to write about.

Remember, students can write about non-high school seasons such as indoor soccer, hockey league, basketball league. Students can also write about individual workouts, private lessons, and activities at gyms or the YMCA.

Sports activities outside of high school

  • Club / Elite teams
  • Quincy High School Hockey League
  • Indoor Soccer (Starland or South Shore Sports Center)
